|I have been plagued with very strong power line noise (up to 20dB over S9) on HF for the past 6 months or so now. I was thinking I'd have to give up any thoughts of operating even CW, except for very strong stations, until a friend turned me on to this fine device. I hooked it up, followed the directions in the manual and was amazed! Power line hum disappeared and I could hear (and work!) even the weak DX stations again, even with just a 30' "wet noodle" hung out my window as a sense antenna. Mni tnx, MFJ!! Very 73. |TO CLEAR UP THE RECURRING STATIC, AND BUZZING NOISES FOUND IN SHORTWAVE WAS AN EASY TASK FOR THIS MFJ-1025. IT REDUCES THE BACKGROUND NOISE, AND IMPROVES THE SIGNAL CLARITY. COMBINED WITH THE MFJ-1048 IS A GREAT PACKAGE TO RID OF THE NUISANCE SO COMMON IN SHORTWAVE. I RECOMMEND THIS UNIT.|
I BUILT 2 PASSIVE ANTENNA TUNER BOXES WITH A TAPPED COIL, BUT THEY COULD NOT TUNE CORRECTLY DUE TO THE MASS OF COPPER AND ALUMINUM IN MY HOME MADE LOOPS.
THANK YOU MFJ.

|This little jewel works as advertised! Just one caveat, you need to put as much distance between antennas as you can and don't try to run > 100 watts. I managed to cook mine (the replaceable bulb as well as the receive antenna preamp) so I will need to send it in. Before I killed it myself it worked fine business. I have had horrid power line noise here for several year (which the power company is finally addressing) and this unit did a great job of nulling it out. So I am sending mine in (and hopefully get it modded to include a pin diode or relay shunt to ground upon xmit) and look forward to getting it back!! It's a truly great product! 73 de K1JHS|MFJ-1868VHF DISCONE ANT, 25-1300 MHZ, SO-239$69.95
