| Customer Reviews for the MFJ-1610T.
| From: John H. Guillory kf5qeo | | Awesome Antenna! I have never seen an antenna perform so well straight from the factory without any tuning needed! I by-passed the antenna tuner and got a 1.5:1 as is, switched the MFJ-956 over to the 10-meter band range, and with very little adjustment I had a 1.0:1 swr reading! For the heck of it, I switched it down to 12 meters and was able to get down to a 1.5:1 SWR, which is perfectly acceptable for me. If I do a lot of work on the 12 meter band, I can allways put my MFJ-1612T up to improve upon the SWR, but as is, the MFJ-1610T makes an awesome antenna for anyone starting off in the 10 meter band! I was told by all my friends in HAM radios that HF frequencies are really hard to get the SWR down on all the frequencies of a band, and that I'd need an antenna tuner for. This antenna on my Ranger RIT 2950DX brings the SWR down to 1.0:1 on the entire band without any adjustment! The MFJ-1610T, MFJ956, and MFJ-342S with a MFJ-7710 make an incredable combination for any 10-meter radio! I highly recommend it for anyone on a budget. If money's no object, I'd possibly see about getting the remote antenna tuner after reading an article and possibly an automatic antenna tuner that allows you to switch between 3 different antennas. |

| From: Larry Garrett KB8WBG | | Purchased one of the MFJ-1610T's about a year ago and mounted it on top of about 25 feet of conduit. With my Radio Shack HTX-10 and a 80 watt mobile amplifier on base I have made contacts all over the U.S., Europe, the Pacific and Asia, and anywhere I hear a good signal down here where I live with hills on my north, east and west, if I can hear it I can usually make the contact an excellent antenna for only $14.95. Recommend to all for an inexpensive base and mobile antenna. |
