|Customer Reviews for the MFJ-1728B.|

I bought this antenna for $30.00, then installed it and went to work. It works great, it is truly an antenna worth its dollar for dollar. The 5/8 wave performance is amazing even on 6 meters. I worked stations several miles away(27-50)from the local repeaters and simplex using about 5 watts. That was a shock to me, also now, keep in mind I used to use a glass mounted antenna (which I can not complain about but finding a reinstall kit was hard). This MFJ-1728B antenna is well worth buying -- everyone should buy one. If not for everyday use, use it as a backup where an antenna that works is highly needed.

|With deliberate care and cutting, I have my -1728B to less than 1.4:1 SWR across both FM bands, 6m on the lower side and 2m on the upper side of the SWR curves to get them both 'balanced.' On the car roof, it took a total of 1+7/8" of whip cuts. Antenna works great on both FM bands holding the local 6m and 2m Repeaters further out than others can on both bands. Pleased with the results and performance, and I'm an Antenna Test Engineer for and R&D concern. The only problem turned out to be the poor 90 deg elbow adapter (non-MFJ) I was initially using on the end of the cable. That's gone. Plenty of magnet for the low profile whip. Bringing activity back to 6m!|MFJ-260CDUMMY LOAD, 300 WATT, 0-650MHZ, DRY$39.95
