I bought this antenna for $30.00, then installed it and went to work. It works great, it is truly an antenna worth its dollar for dollar. The 5/8 wave performance is amazing even on 6 meters. I worked stations several miles away(27-50)from the local repeaters and simplex using about 5 watts. That was a shock to me, also now, keep in mind I used to use a glass mounted antenna (which I can not complain about but finding a reinstall kit was hard). This MFJ-1728B antenna is well worth buying -- everyone should buy one. If not for everyday use, use it as a backup where an antenna that works is highly needed. |
