| From: Steve White | I have tried a lot of the antennas over the years for scanners and just recently got into ham and have tried several high end ones , the MFJ 1740 is really good its tuning is really right I have a lot of bleed over from close commercial repeaters and the rejection is really good receive is excellent your antenna and the radio shacks quarter wave scanner antenna are the best antennas I have ever used over the years for high and 2 meter ham currently my 1740 is at 40` on my tower I want to mount it in the main position over my TV antenna some time to get full range at 60` I can hit repeater 40 miles away clean it is slightly directional but I attribute this to it being mounted on the side of my tower it needs to be on top in the open air I sure hope you continue to manufacture this antenna for a long while with no changes I,am thinking about moving some day and I will want another one of these antennas.
