|1752 was not too hard to assemble. Mounted antenna and secured it to my house and had no transmit or recive. Pulled down antenna and upon inspection found that the loading coil was shorting against the cover of the bottom box. Pushed coil down so it was not touching cover and had transmit and recieve. Standing wave 1.5 to 1 Talking simplex a good 12 miles away with 4 watt HT. Hitting repeaters OK. My only complaint is the rise in Standing Wave when it rains hard. I called MFJ and they said I might try sealing the antenna. I would need to get some sheet metal and sealant might give it a try goes back to normal when it dries out. For the money I think it is a good deal. I would like to see a model that was sealed from the elements. Time owned is 4 days. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars! KD4WKP.|

|I wrote an ealier review that was not all in all flatering about the 1752. But since then I have been able to work simplex effectively with 4 watts a good 10 or 12 miles away. I have beeen able to work a repeater guite effectively a good 85 miles away on 4 watts when conditions were good. The antenna was not too hard to put together as everyone claims. I am guite pleased with the 1752. For the price it is a great buy. A normal rain does not bother the antenna but a rain of 4 inches an hour did affect the SWR a bit. I would recommend it to anyone that wanted to get on the 220MHZ band with out spending a fortune. I have gotten great reports on my signal on repeaters and simplex at 4 watts. Sincerely, KD4WKP.|MFJ-418
