| Customer Reviews for the MFJ-212.
| From: John Hardwick G4ALA | | The MFJ-212 is a most useful unit. It allows tuning of receivers off the ham bands. Tuning on the ham bands, with very little practice I was able to match to better than 1.3:1. This was achieved by using a T-Match and confirmed by an SWR meter. Using the MFJ-212 on HF broadcasting bands was a real bonus. I can now tune an antenna to receive overseas broadcast transmissions without transmitting myself, thus solving a real problem with broadcasting bands, where transmission is not allowed. Many hams start as Short Wave Listeners. The MFJ-212 allows a non-licensed individual to obtain a good match on an antenna for listening to amateur transmissions, useful for random length long wires. Tuning could not be simpler. Adjust the tuner inductor for an initial S-Meter dip, then adjust the tuner variable capacitors for best dip. Dip is seldom to zero. A very useful device. |
| From: John N2EIK | I found that in order to use this device I need to turn my RF gain down to 50% and turn my pre-amp off. The 212 works like a charm every time, 1:1.
I wish I could have found one used, cheaper but I couldnt and bought new at $100... Money well spent (!!!!) and I can see why I couldnt find one used, I know I wont part with it! Having one of these is the closest thing to having an auto-tuner!
