| From: Grant ke5zyp | This mount is great for extending reach of H/T's in stealth mobile use, rent cars and aluminum body cars. I bought one in March 2010 and love it and use it with a 19 inch SMA whip. It worked much better than the H/T alone inside the car. What it lacked to really have punch was a counterpoise since the antenna mount is not grounded to the car body. My friend WY5V alerted me to this necessity and boy was he ever right. I sanded the bottom of the sma mount and the inside of the car side of the mount and put a 20 gauge wire about 19 inches long on the mount and coax and it hangs inside the car and made a HUGE improvement in my signal. MFJ needs to add a connection for the wire and make sure the sma connector is electrically bonded to the mount. All in all, this is a great antenna mount for my use.
