| From: Norm Sullivan NZ5L | | This is a neat little item that really cleans up noise from automotive electrical systems. I rate it a "5" for that function. It also enabled me to run the full xcvr power (on SSB) from a heavy-duty cigarette lighter plug adaptor, with a 15A fuse. So far, so good. Many MFJ products have multiple power connectors, including the ever popular 5-way binding posts. The 4403, however, was only equipped with "Anderson PowerPoles". Now I have been a ham for nearly 50 years, but I had never used (or even heard of) this type of connector. Nor was there any mention of how to use them. A call to MFJ resulted in them sending me the required connectors, but I had to use an internet tutorial to get a handle on their use. They work fine, but - please, MFJ - put it in the manual! |
