|I really like this antenna. I have it hung at only 30 feet (see qrz page) and it is typically several S units higher than the Buckmaster OCF 160 (270 foot OCF dipole wire) depending on where the calling station is as I have the collinear array hung 90 degrees to the Buckmaster oriented NW-SE in the shape of a "T". The collinear array runs to a Dentron Super Tuner and easily tunes a 1:1 on mid-band 20m, 17m and 15m. The antennas selectivity and sensitivity has greatly improved my SSTV image TX clarity on 14.230 where it tunes a 1:1.4.|
This antenna is a great low cost solution and does provide gain, but requires a yard as it's 140 feet long. I got Madagascar from AZ with it running 100 watts... that's 14,000 miles... making that QSO my longest by far with only 100 watts. I'm convinced. It works well.
