| From: William Tackett K5WTT | A nice little compact package that works well together. Front cover provides great protection for the face of your 706, but requires a screwdriver each time to remove/replace. I replaced the stock screws with 6-32 knurled knobs to make it easier. No place to put the front cover once it is taken off, so do not misplace it. I also followed AD5X's modification and replaced the 10g wire with 14g and added a powerpole connector to the back with a removeable cord. Back of the box cord wrap area is metal and will nick the factory installed 10g power cord.
You will still need a "go bag" as there is very little storage at all in this unit. If you don't want to spend the time putting one of these together yourself, this is a nice package deal. |
