|This balun functioned nicely but after two years it has failed. I cut it open to find the failure and found that the solder connection of the lead which connects to the center conductor of the internal coax had seperated from the copper wire which exits the case. The leads that exit the case for connection to the antenna wires are not anchored to anything internally so it appears that the movement of the wires over time caused the solder connection to fail. I recommend that you anchor each lead under the external nuts on the eyehooks to prevent movement of those wires when your antenna wires move in the wind. Be sure to make your drip loop as per the instructions.|

|After reading the ARRL Antenna, I was interested if a 1:1 balun would make a difference in my home made dipole. I was having a little RF in the shack and was wondering if this would help.|
I cut a few inches off my existing Dipole and installed this Balun. I then compared it to my home made inverted V.
The results were very good. It elminated RF in my shack, but more importantly it (as it said) significantly reduced the noise on my signal.
I don't have any test equipment, but just looking at the output on my Digital Waterfall, and listening to the signal, this balun significantly reduced interference and background noise and increased signal strength.
I will never make another wire antenna again without this product. with very little money spent, I drastically increase my antennas performance.
Recommend to anyone wanting to build a wire Inverted V or Dipole to use this product.
