|I've "played" with a lot of loops in the last 40 years, so my expectations were pretty low. Loops are tricky beasts that almost never work as well as one hopes, and they can be a lot of work to build and tune, often requiring costly materials to make them work acceptably.|
Nevertheless, I bought one of the MFJ units because all of my personal loop experiments had placed the tuning mechanism opposite the feed point. I wanted to try a loop with the tuning at the feed point, without having to go through the construction process. After five minutes of set up, I was pleasantly surprised when somebody immediately came back to my "test test test" call on the 20-meter CW band. I was using 5 watts from my QRP rig in my house. Wow!
